GOd Is for You

I am a big Lakers fan. I am also a big fan of a local college basketball team. I believe everyone that follows sports are a fan of some team. Guess what God is also a fan. He is for you. I know God is for you. Now God is never for sin in our lives but he is for us. You might be asking Billy how do you know that? Lets take a look at Romans 8:31-39. which says ....
31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."[a] 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Now first off important to note what this doesn't say. It doesn't say children of God will never have things and people who are against them. It says it doesn't matter. If you know Jesus you can face anything.
Now back to the question how do I know God is for you.
Lets look at vs. 32 God sent his son down here. God could have sent us something else but he sent his own son to prove his love for us.
Now lets look at vs. 34. Do you ever feel like no one is praying for you. Well when you feel like that please know Jesus is praying for you.
Well those are some of the reasons I know God is for us based on the above verses.

...

Today if you don't mind I would like to point something out about
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 -

Here is what those verses say...

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 (New International Version)
7To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

So what does this say to us.

A. At times suffering can be the will of God. I don't understand that but here Paul who was in the will of God was suffering. There are some who teach you lack faith or are in sin if you are suffering. If those folks asked me what I thought of their doctrine I would tell them they better read their Bibles again. I would also ask them was Paul or Jesus in sin? They both went through hard times.

B. God always answers our prayers but he doesn't always do what we want and take away our pain. God like a good daddy knows what is best for us. He will give us what we need which is not always the same as what we want.

C. Vs. 9 At times God says he will heal us through a problem not from a problem.

D. When we are weak we find out who Jesus is. There is a saying you find out about Jesus when Jesus is all you have.

Well those are some of my thoughts based on what the word says in the above verses.
